The Parish of Kirk Smeaton

The parish of Kirk Smeaton is on the south east edge of the area covered by Pontefract and District Family History Society. It includes the villages of Wrangbrook, Little Smeaton and Wentbridge as well as Kirk Smeaton.

The parish church of St Peter is an ancient one and its registers that survive date back to 1604. Registers deposited at the Wakefield Headquarters of the Wakefield Archive Service http://www.archives.wyjs.org.uk/
