The Society holds regular monthly meetings on the third Thursday of each month (except August & December) in the Micklegate Methodist Church Hall in Pontefract, which is near the Bus Station in Horsefair.  Meetings start at 7.30pm. A speaker is invited to give a talk to members on a topic related to family or local history.  All members and visitors are welcome (visitors are asked to donate £1 to funds).

Talks are usually followed by lively discussions between the members and more experienced members are on hand to pass on advice and hints to anyone who is having any problems with their research.
