the past few years the Pontefract FHS has recorded and published may
Monumental Inscriptions mainly from the Churchyards of our area. Most
of these are fairly small and we have been able to publish these in
one or two volumes.
We have now begun to publish the Monumental Inscriptions recorded in local cemeteries and these have produced a large number of volumes per cemetery Our Monumental Inscriptions are not published in alphabetical order as many of our other publications such as Parish Registers, but by location of the headstone on the cemetery plan. As an aid to finding the correct volume we have created a surname index for each set showing which volume a particular surname can be found. The surname may appear more than once in any given volume but for this index it is only shown to appear in a volume that it appears in at least once. Please note these indexes will only be produced where the number of volumes per set is greater than two. |
